- Our Cocoon Swaddle Bags are designed to be both easy to use and difficult to escape from. This zip-up swaddle is TOG rated for warmth to keep a baby snug and securely swaddled without the need for complicated wrapping from day one. Being TOG-rated means that the 0.2 TOG infant swaddle can be used on its own from room temperatures 24℃ / 75℉ + with no blankets in the bassinet or crib to make this a safe sleep option for a newborn or baby. The 0.2 TOG also makes this an ideal summer swaddle for hot weather. To increase warmth, parents can layer up underneath as needed and follow our handy FREE room thermometer and what to wear guide included with the product to help them dress their child appropriately. We recommend pairing this with one of our TOG-rated rompers or Bodywear underneath (sold separately). The Cocoon Swaddle Bag is made with GOTS certified organic cotton, with a touch of elastane. This means it's firm enough to restrict startle reflex whilst still allowing stretch and movement for healthy growth. The stretch also allows for full chest expansion when breathing, added comfort, and for a baby to move its hands into a self-settling position inside the swaddle. The soft, breathable organic cotton is certified non-toxic, dyed with water based dyes, and gentle on newborn skin, and skin prone to eczema breakouts. A zip enclosure also protects your child's delicate skin, and the handy arm poppers transition the Cocoon from an arms-in swaddle to arms-out sleeping bag when baby is showing signs of rolling. The bell shaped design is approved by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute as being hip-healthy, and promotes proper joint development in the hips and shoulders joints. Finally, the two-way zipper makes for quick and easy diaper changes during sleep with minimal disruptions. The 0.2 TOG is ideal for swaddling in warm and hot weather, and it is our most lightweight swaddle for summer. The Cocoon Swaddle Bag complies with AU, US, UK and EU safety and quality standards and is reviewed by the National Eczema Association as a skin-friendly product. Q: Does the Cocoon Swaddle Bag come in a 3.5 TOG? The Cocoon Swaddle Bag does not come in a higher tog than a 2.5 TOG. This is reduce the risk of overheating, by dressing a baby too warmly for sleep. A young baby cannot regulate their body temperature like an older child or adult does, and has not yet developed the ability to sweat if they are too hot. If you are finding your baby is waking by being too cold, consider increasing their Layers underneath, or using a light layer such as the Baby Tuck Sheet on top (for babies not yet rolling). Q: When can my baby move to a 3.5 TOG pouch (if they outgrow 0-3m size before they are 3 months)? Once your baby is sleeping arms out and older than 12 weeks, a 3.5 TOG pouch may be suitable for them. You might also consider a sleeveless 2.5 TOG pouch with Arm Warmers over top
