- Birkenstock x Filson Skykomish Boots proudly bear the 1774 designation. This classification is only given to collaborative shoes and boots made with the highest quality premium materials. These boots are a Filson-exclusive, made by Birkenstock using Filson’s iconic waxed-cotton Tin Cloth. With a cleated outsole and Birkenstock’s signature footbed, they’re made for all-day support and comfort in wet weather. The foundation is Birkenstock’s signature Deep Blue footbed. This four-layer support is a lamination of a polyurethane bed for shock absorption and an anatomic cork/EVA core stabilizer, bound together with braided jute. A microfiber top liner transports moisture away from the foot. The uppers combine oiled nubuck leather and our signature oil finish Tin Cloth which has provided protection from wet Pacific Northwest weather for a century. They’re finished with a side zipper for easy on and off. The anatomically-shaped toebox creates plenty of room for comfortable, healthy walking. The textured rubber rand adds additional water protection around the midsole. The cleated rubber sole with cork midsole provides traction and shock absorption.
