Description
This is a pre-order. This product will ship the week of February 24, 2025.When olio nuovo season arrives, Italians rejoice! The very first olive oil of the harvest each year, this “new oil” is fresh and vibrant, with a lively, bold flavor that puts other olive oils to shame. This year, we’re thrilled to have received a small supply of our own olio nuovo from our friends in Liguria. It’s made with the same native Taggiasca olives used for our fan-favorite extra virgin olive oil, gently cold-pressed to preserve their healthy antioxidants and complex character. To commemorate this ultra-special limited release, each bottle is tagged and signed by Giada and comes with a convenient pour spout. Very limited quantities available; when it’s gone, it won’t be back until next year! Our olive oil producer harvested a very small crop of their Taggiasca olives early to make this precious olio nuovo. As a result, the oil’s flavor is more pronounced than our standard olive oil, fruitier and more complex. Savor it immediately, drizzled over soups, salads, and pastas or simply drizzled over toasted bruschetta. Olio nuovo doesn’t last forever - its nuances will fade over time, so you’re encouraged to enjoy it with abandon.Northern Liguria shares a border with France, where the Taggiasca olive is known as niçoise. The small, juicy olive is beloved across the Riviera region both for eating and as a source of an oil of exceptional delicacy and aroma. They are harvested once they reach the dark blue-violet color of peak ripeness, resulting in a milder, less bitter oil than those made with unripe olives.Olives are such an important part of life in Liguria that their groves line the cliffs that overlook the Mediterranean, giving the coastline a romantic, silvery glow as you approach from the water. Ligurian olive oils are known to be elegant and well-balanced, without aggressively bitter or tannic notes.
