- Effective May 20th, 2024, Sotheby's has lowered its Buyer's Premium rates and removed Overhead Premium for all categories excluding Wine Spirits. Sotheby's Overhead Premium will only be charged for Wine Spirits lots. Please refer to the Conditions of Business located on the relevant sale page for the updated rates.Sotheby’s are proud to presentFinest and Rarest Spirits,the latest spirits sale in Hong Kong which brings together the best of Japan, Scotland and France and features many of the rarest Japanese whiskies ever produced, alongside fine Scotch and Cognac to culminate in one of the largest ever offerings of spirits from Sotheby’s Hong Kong.The sale is led by the oldest Karuizawa ever bottled,Karuizawa 52 Year Old 1960, alongside a pair of bottles, theKaruizawa "The Last Masterpiece" #6017 50 Year Old 1970,bottled in 2020 from the last cask owned by Taiwanese Entrepreneur Eric Huang. This is the very first time these two bottles have been brought together to auction.From Scotland, highlights come in the form ofThe Macallan The Reach 81 Year Old 1940, the oldest Scotch whisky ever bottled upon its release in 2022. Also from The Macallan are a number of bottles from theFine Rare Collection, widely known as one of the most sought after series of Scotch whiskies ever produced.
