- In this live December sale of Old Master 19th Century Paintings in London we are delighted to present a rich and wide variety of works hailing from over six centuries from all of the major national schools of art at a broad range of price points. The morning session includes works on a variety of media produced in the Flemish and Dutch Golden Age, an impressive offering of Sienese late mannerist pictures, elegant British and French portraits, and a fantastic selection of paintings from a variety of distinguished European collections. The afternoon session encompasses art from Britain and mainland Europe, demonstrating the wide-ranging fascinations of nineteenth and twentieth century artists, from still-life to portraiture, the depiction of animals and landscapes to romantic or realistic depictions of everyday life. Highlights include masterworks by European artists Lucien Lévy-Dhurmer, Hermenegildo Anglada Camarasa, Carl Holsøe, Johan Barthold Jongkind and Jozef Israëls.
