- <p><strong>Château Cheval Blanc 1982</strong></p><p><em>St. Emilion, 1er Grand Cru Classé (A)</em></p><p><em>u.3bn, labels very slightly scuffed 4 slightly damp soiled, slightly scuffed capsules, Taiwan importer's back labels</em></p><p><br></p><p>54.3 hl/hectare made and only 12.8% alcohol - these facts still amaze. In 2023, that rich, exciting saddle-leather nose that is inimitable, plus black cherry liqueur and surging crushed blueberries. And then an element of dark mystery - this is explosive! Black liquorice on the palate, with immense sweetness. The vigour is show-stopping, with infinite volume and opulence, plus a texture like a great tapestry, intricate and densely woven. A glorious black cherries mega kick at the end - where will this go? Clearly, it will be after me! There is a touch of the 1947 to this, but with more harmony. Is this the greatest ever Cheval Blanc, perhaps with the 1921...... A successful entrepreneur and esteemed wine connoisseur, he is also renowned as a hotel and restaurant operator. His discerning taste shines through in this exceptional collection. </p><p><br></p><p>This remarkable collection features some of the most exquisite Bordeaux Classified Growths and gems from legendary vintages such as Mouton Rothschild 1982, Latour 1982 and Petrus 1989. It also includes distinguished Champagnes from renowned houses such as Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs 1995 and Krug Clos du Mesnil 1990. Complementing these are wines from the iconic Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, spanning the late 1980s to 1990s. Offered in generous parcel quantities, this collection is a true celebration of elegance, tradition, and excellence.</p><p><br></p><p>Most of the collection has been acquired over the past three decades from UK and local wine merchants. Almost 100% of the wines were purchased more than 20 years ago. Vintage 1995 and onwards such as Mouton Rothschild and Comte de Champagne were mostly ordered and purchased on release in parcel quantities.
