- <p>Teisai Hokuba (1771-1844)</p><p>Attributed to Teisai Hokuba (1771-1844)</p><p>Three <em>surimono</em> depicting <em>bijin</em></p><p>Edo period, 19<sup>th</sup> century</p><p> </p><p>each a woodblock print, <em>surimono</em>, privately issued; each with collector's seal of Gerhard Pulverer to <em>verso</em>, and comprising:</p><p> </p><p>- Sho Sui (Jiao Sui), depicting a seated <em>bijin</em> in front of a glass goblet, embellished with gold pigment, from an untitled series of the Eight Immortals of the Wine Cup (<em>Inchuhassen</em>), signed <em>Teisai Hokuba ga </em>(Pictured by Teisai Hokuba), sealed <em>Hokuba</em></p><p>- First Day of Spring (<em>Risshun</em>), embellished with metallic pigment and embossing, unsigned (attributed to Teisai Hokuba), sealed <em>Kyowa ni </em>(1802) and <em>Dai </em></p><p>- Woman in court dress standing on a veranda before flowering plum, signed <em>Hokuba hitsu </em>(Brush of Hokuba), <em>circa </em>1800s – 1810s</p><p> </p><p>The first <em>koban surimono</em>: 21 x 14.2 cm., 8¼ x 5⅝ in.</p><p>The second <em>koban surimono</em>: 17.2 x 9.8 cm., 6¾ x 3⅞ in.</p><p>The third <em>shikishiban surimono</em>: approx. 20.6 x 18.4 cm., 8⅛ x 7¼ in.</p><p><br></p><p>__________________________________________________________________________</p><p><br></p><p>Attribué à Teisai Hokuba (1771-1844), Trois surimono représentant des bijin, époque Edo, XIXe siècle </p>
